UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for strengthening multilateralism in an increasingly divided world in remarks to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, China, on Monday.

The UN Security Council met in emergency session in New York on Friday afternoon following overnight strikes early on Thursday by Russia on Ukrainian cities including the capital, which left at least 23 dead, including four children.
